Formula

Expected day = day invited × (1 − decline rate) × (1 + plus-one allowance)
Expected evening = evening invited × (1 − decline rate) × (1 + plus-one allowance)
Total cost = (day expected × day cost) + (evening expected × evening cost)

The optional plus-one allowance (under Advanced Options) increases the expected headcount to cover guests who bring a partner — set it to the percentage of attending guests you expect to bring a plus-one.
