One generous handful per person creates a great confetti moment. UK suppliers reckon 1 litre holds 8-12 handfuls, so a generous handful is about 0.10 litres (one standard 100 ml cone). That gives the well-known rule of thumb of 1 litre per 10 guests. For a more dramatic effect, 2 handfuls per person doubles the visual impact. For 80 guests with 1 handful each, you need about 8 litres.

Many venues require biodegradable confetti only. Dried flower petals are the most popular - they look beautiful and are eco-friendly. Paper confetti is cheap but may not be allowed. Rice is traditional but birds should not eat it. Always check with your venue first.
