Easter Egg Hunt Calculator — Eggs & Hiding Spots

Work out how many eggs and hiding spots you need for your egg hunt.

How We Calculate This

This calculator estimates egg quantities, chocolate weight, hiding spots, and costs for your egg hunt.

Formula

  • Total eggs = children × eggs per child
  • Bags to buy = round up (total eggs ÷ eggs per bag)
  • Chocolate weight = total eggs × weight per egg (mini ~10 g, small ~20 g, medium ~40 g, mixed ~25 g)
  • Hiding spots = round up (total eggs ÷ eggs per cluster)
  • Egg density = total eggs ÷ garden area

The hiding-spots figure is a planning heuristic: we assume around 2–3 eggs per hiding spot (default 2.5), which you can adjust under Advanced Options. Scattered hunts use closer to 1 egg per spot; clustered caches hold several.
